There were two meetings I had with IBM. One was with 3Com and IBM. Here, an hour with Brian Allain, Raza, Mike Leo and Joe Vukson of 3Com and Michael Rousseaux, the IBM Collaboration Offer Manager, who is the IBM prime on the 3Com - System i project.
3Com and IBM announced a year ago a relationship to deliver 3Com VCX software (a SIP PBX) on the System i hardware platform. IBM has made great progress in their rollout of this application:
- a. Product available since October 2006
- b. Product bundles for 100,250, 500 and 1000 user packs
- c. 10 deals worldwide in only 7 weeks of 2006 sales
- d. Approved resellers cover 70% of IBM markets with only 5 months of product availability
